route information.
InfoExpress
(619) 685-4900
You can call this number if you have a touch-tone phone and you want bus
arrival and departure times from stops along the route. You need to know
the route number and your stop.
Transfers
If you need to ride more than one bus to get to your
destination, ask the bus driver for a transfer at the time you pay your
fare on the first bus. When you board your second bus, hand your
transfer to the driver. If you will need the transfer for a third bus,
explain this to the driver and he or she will return it to you. You can
use a transfer to take a bus going in the same direction. You can also
use it to travel back in the direction you came from, as long as you do
not use the transfer on the same route. You must use a transfer on a
different route and within 60 minutes. If you use a Ready Pass (monthly
pass), you do not need a transfer.
Getting on the bus
Every San Diego Transit bus stop has a blue sign which
indicates the route number served at that stop and other information
such as whether the bus is wheelchair accessible or has a bike rack. As
the bus arrives to your stop, stand up, face the bus, and signal to the
driver to stop. Check the number of the bus and make sure you get on the
right bus.
Getting off the bus
If you are not sure where you want to get off the bus, just
ask the driver to call out your stop. If you know your stop, pull the
cord above the window as your stop nears. This is a signal for the
driver to stop for you. Exit the bus through the rear doors.
